Nyambura is the Senior Partner at Thanji & Partners and a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). She has more than 17 years of post –qualification experience in financial reviews and audit (internal and external) of donor and government – funded programmes, forensic audits (fraud and investigation), public sector pre – grant and fiduciary risk capacity assessments, financial management for donor – funded programmes, program/grant management – Results Based Management (RBM), management of grantees and cooperating entities(consortiums), institutional strengthening/organizational development (OD), organizational risk management (ORM), program/grant management, and public financial management (PFM).
She is a former Global staff in an International NGO and Auditor in Leading Audit Firms and International Development Consulting firms including Forvis Mazars CPA, Inscap Associates and Carr Stanyer/Nexia International’s Development Advisory Services Division. She is well versed in the reporting requirements and priorities of key institutional funders and foundations she has worked with and managed including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Open Society Foundation (OSF), AGRA, Oxfam GB, Norwegian Peoples Aid (NPA), NEPAD, and Government Bilateral agencies like the FCDO, EU, GIZ, SIDA, USAID, DFID, UN Agencies, Government of the Netherlands and other multilateral agencies.
As the Managing Partner, Nyambura ensures that Thanji & Partners Audit, Tax and Development Consulting assignments successfully fuses conventional organizational governance and strategic performance standards with a contemporary view of the modern private and public sectors and international development context.
Her recent experience includes designing subgrant management blue prints for institutions, implementing automated grant management systems for grant makers and conducting specialized audits for International NGOs.
Her countries of experience (over 20 countries in Africa) include Benin, Senegal, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Zambia, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.
