Susan Mbau is the tax advisory expert at Thanji & Partners. She is a qualified Accountant, Tax and IT specialist with over 7 years post qualification experience in Finance, auditing, IT and Tax.

She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and has worked with leading audit firms and offered consultancy services in financial management for an international NGO.

Susan has served a wide variety of tax clients as an individual tax consultant. She has assisted various clients with resolution of disputes with tax authorities, tax planning and structuring, tax trainings and setting up operations. Prior to joining Thanji & Partners, she spent 3 years at Kinyoe & CO CPA, an established audit firm, specialising in audit and tax. Her passion is to create and manage innovative, effective and sustainable business systems that benefit organizations and the communities in which they operate.

She holds an MBA (Finance) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Bachelor’s in Business Information Technology (Database Administration) from Strathmore University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a qualified Tax expert from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration. This diverse educational background enables her to seamlessly bridge the gap between financial management, tax and advanced IT systems, driving operational efficiency across organizations.

Her proficiency in software solutions like QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel, and Oracle NetSuite further enhances her ability to optimize financial operations and maintain compliance with accounting regulations.
